Health Drinks Sure Are Tasty

When I was younger the thought of a health drink that tasted good was beyond me. As a teenager I was on a staple diet of three well balanced snacks: Can of Pepsi, Mars Bar and a packet of salt an vinegar crisps. Don’t worry though, I was reasonably sensible by only doing this once a day. As I got a bit older and my tastes changed I started to look at healthy drinks and found out that they didn’t have to be disgusting.

With my tastes changing so has my quality snack collection. I often now eat apples, bananas, pears and all sorts of other fruits. The only issue with this is that you can only really eat so much fruit each day before you want to burst. What is ideal about healthy drinks is that you can consume a lot more fruit, or even vegetables, in a drink that what you can when they are solid. Also, drinking helps the body absorbs nutrients faster because it doesn’t have to break down the food eaten when it is in solid form.

So what kind of health drinks can you get? I don’t want to just leave you hanging around wondering what to do next so here is a sample of a healthy drink to get you started but you should go to the Food and Drink site to get some more.

Tropical Wonder

  • 1 cup, Orange juice
  • 1 cup, Frozen chunks of mango
  • 1/3 cups, Tofu about 2 inch cube
  • 1/2 cups, chopped walnuts

Simple, just throw everything into a blender, mix and serve. In this example the frozen mango adds to the drink to make it cool but most drinks will look for ice cubes to do this so don’t worry about having to freeze fruit prior to making a drink.

I could throw examples out there all night but it really easy to find a drink that will suit you. Of course there are other things you can put into your health drink like some protein powder or if you are looking for a more balanced life then why not throw in some alcohol too like spiced rum. Sometimes I even go crazy and just try to make some up myself so don’t hold back, get started making some healthy drinks for yourself.
