Celiac disease symptoms…to be taken care of!

Before getting to know about the celiac disease symptoms, it is important to know what actually celiac disease is.

Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder along with the bodys inability to handle certain proteins. This takes a form of prolonged malnutrition. The body of a person suffering from this disease is unable to process the proteins in barley, rye and wheat. This results in the death of villi in hisher intestine. Villi are the micro hairs meant to capture food nutrients as these nutrients pass through the digestive track. Thus improper absorption of nutrients gives rise to malnutrition. The body finds it very difficult to process the food with gluten in the beginning. Gradually this becomes true for all food types. Gluten is actually a protein substance that is left out when starch is removed from cereal grains. Hence, this disease is also called as Gluten Intolerance symptoms.

Early celiac symptoms include bloating and gas after eating the food rich in gluten. Dizziness, fatigue and constipation can be symptoms seen at later stage of celiac disease. If still the body continues with this disease then severe constipation, abdominal pain, anemia, headaches, chronic fatigue and numbness of the hands gradually become the part of daily life. Celiac symptoms also include increasing allergies along with asthma but the most common symptom is the skin rash called as dermatitis herpetiformis. This may appear at any stage of the disease.

Among all these celiac disease symptoms not all the symptoms appear to every patient. The rates by which these symptoms occur also differ from person to person. In certain cases the individuals have lived many years without being realizing that they had this disease. But the symptoms should always be taken care of and needed steps should be taken proactively in order to treat this disease in a timely manner.
