The Natural Way to Lose Weight

Contrary to the norms in dieting, dieticians and nutritionists actually recommend weight-conscious people to increase their intake of food and drinks. However, this does not mean that you can jump on any food that you want to eat. The increase in intake especially pertains to food and drinks that will actually help you shed off those unflattering pounds. The following food and drinks are often considered the best way to lose weight.

1. It is not a surprise that vegetables are at the top of that list. Limit yourself to two to three cups of serving a day. In every meal, you can eat 1 cup of raw vegetables, or half a cup of cooked vegetables. Do not be afraid to go a little more than the normal serving; they are vegetables, anyway. They will fill you up without creating much fat, and can therefore promote quick weight loss.

The experts give their two thumbs up on raw vegetables, as these still have their nutrients all intact. You can use them as snacks, too, just to kill off that hunger. Examples of these are carrots, celery, cucumber, fennel, lettuce, and herbs.

If you still prefer cooked vegetables, make sure that they are cooked lightly, and with as little oil as possible, and do not make it rich in any way.

2. You may have guessed that fruits are next in the list. However, not all fruits must be included in this diet. Those that are rich in fat, such as avocadoes and apricots, must be regulated. You can indulge, though, on the fibrous ones, and eat them to your heart’s content. Apples and cantaloupes are the leaders of this pack.

Eat these fruits raw and as a whole. Do not juice them because it releases a certain compound, sorbitol, which only makes you hungrier afterwards.

3. As expected, the universal solvent, water, is included in the diet, too. The proverbial “8 glasses of water” really does work wonders. Make sure, though, that what you are drinking is pure, clean, and unflavored. Other drinks, like tea, coffee, and others, also contain water; but, they also have contents that may not be helpful to the diet.
