Once you change your diet from a high carbohydrate and sugar content to a diet consisting of foods low in the Glycemic Index scale you may find that it might be difficult to adjust to and to find things on the diet that are easy to make after coming back from work.
It is difficult to find a meal that you can pop in the microwave at your convenience that you used to get at your local supermarket. This time around healthy low carb meals should consist of brown rice and pasta, sweet potatoes and other starches with a low sugar content. Plenty of fruit and vegetables is always a good thing and protein is not to be avoided.
Stir fry has many varieties of low carb meals recipes. It is healthy and tasty, especially when you have a little extra soy sauce to taste.
Simply take your favorite vegetables. You could use things like red and green peppers and bak choy to add a bit of a chinese feel as well as a few sugar snap peas. These vegetables are not difficult to prepare, but you can buy them ready prepared.
Stir fry some chicken separately and then add the vegetables back with a little soy sauce and natural diabetic honey
Steak and Chips
Steak and chips doesn’t exactly seem like low carb diet meals specialty, but indeed anything can be transformed. You can choose your favorite piece of steak with some barbeque sauce. Make sure it has no sugar in it and marinade it for a few minutes. In the meantime take a sweet potato and slice it into a couple of pieces so have some chips to go with your steak.
You can bake those in the oven. Make yourself a small salad. This might sound like extra effort, but once you get used to making salad you will find you are making yet more easy low carb meals and there is nothing too it. When the chips are just done start grilling the steak and enjoy!
