Most treatments for cellulite don’t provide lasting results. Massage, creams and exercise only last as long as you are undergoing the treatment. Once you have finished, the cellulite quickly returns. However, there is one method to get rid of cellulite fast that leads to long lasting and permanent results for around 90 percent of women. I’m talking about cosmetic surgery for cellulite.
There are a number of surgical options for cellulite removal. However, liposuction is not recommended specifically for the condition. Liposuction can actually make the lumps worse as it melts away channels and has the fat collapse in on itself.
A more effective treatment is cellulite lysing. Using the same tools as liposuction, a long rod is inserted under the skin and the fibrous bands that pull on the skin are severed. Once these bands are released, the skin rebounds back to its pre-cellulite state.
Another option is to use fat transplants. This treatment has fat taken from another part of your body and it is used to full in the dimples of fat under the skin. The success of this treatment is dependent on how much of the transplanted fat is absorbed back into the body. However, the results are typically good.
A third and final option is to combine the two approaches of above. That way the fibrous tissues and the lumpy fat – which are both major causes of cellulite – are dealt with at the same time.
With these surgical options, the best results are seen in women who are aged between 25 and 35. However, this doesn’t necessarily preclude younger or older women from having successful results. After the surgery, you should be able to return to work with in a few days. The main side effects are swelling and bruising, and they fully resolve themselves within 8 weeks at the most. Most surgeons will recommend some anti cellulite exercises once you are fully recovered to keep the cellulite away.
As with any medical intervention, you need to discuss the potential risks with you surgeon.
