Foods that can worsen liver disease: alcohol, canned food and factory processed foods, fatty and fried foods, grilled foods, foods that are full of different widget. Diet therapy is traditionally an integral component in the treatment of liver disease. The therapeutic principle is known as the name “liver diet”. Liver diet is not only compensation for calories and nutrients, but it significantly affects the disease course. Namely, an appropriate dietary regime, which includes a sufficient number of calories and the proper relationship of basic nutrients, with special emphasis on protein content, derived from an understanding disorders of metabolic processes in the liver. Diet regime is not uniform for all liver diseases. The main difference in the amount of protein and caloric values they contain.
However, for all liver diseases apply the following recommendations. Alcohol is strictly prohibited, will even cause a small amount of pain in the liver. Most calories should come from carbohydrates, which are rich in grains, fruits, vegetables and honey. Recommended sources of protein are lean meats, low fat cottage cheese, skim milk, eggs and fish. Amount of fat should be reduced to a minimum (40-60 grams daily), and it is best to use vegetable fats (olive oil). Vegetables and fruit can be eaten raw or cooked, of course, raw is healthier. Salad is prepared with a few drops of olive oil and lemon juice. Food and salt in moderation, in case of edema and fluid accumulation in the abdominal cavity is carried out unsalted diet. It is not advisable to prepare meals with the roux, grilling, frying and overflowing dishes heated, boiled or fried in fat. Food should be taken in frequent, smaller meals. Smoking is not recommended.
